Dear community.
We decided to make this post because we have not published any updates on the Nomiswap project for a long time, and many people would like to receive some information on the current state and further development.

In fact, we do not have any significant updates at the moment. The main problem of the Nomiswap decentralized exchange remains relevant - namely, the constant emission of NMX tokens to reward liquidity providers. But it is worth noting the fact that at the moment the impact of the emission of the NMX token on its price is much weaker than it was before. First of all, this is due to the fact that the profitability of farming has become much lower, which means that the value of inflation has also become much lower than it was before.

We cannot completely turn off NMX token issuance, because then liquidity will leave the liquidity pools, since there will be no reason to keep it there. And if liquidity leaves, then the very existence of Nomiswap will be in question.

The solution to the inflation problem could be to move Nomiswap's AMM model to a more efficient concentrated liquidity model that generates more trading volume and more trading fees for the same volume of liquidity. But at the moment, we do not know of any model of concentrated liquidity in the market, where it would be enough to simply provide liquidity and “forget about it” and receive guaranteed income without incurring losses.

As our recent experiments have shown, if liquidity is transferred to protocols like Uniswap, then most liquidity providers are guaranteed to lose money, and only qualified liquidity providers and market makers remain with profits, using their own advanced automatic algorithms to manage liquidity.

In the last few months, we have been experimenting with creating such algorithms, but so far we have not got any working algorithm, and in 100% of cases our algorithms lose money over the distance, and we get a situation that it would be more profitable to just keep the tokens on hand, without sending them to any protocols.

At the moment, we are seeing a trend in the market for DEX projects to move away from the AMM model (where liquidity providers can earn more or less predictably on their liquidity) towards models based on concentrated liquidity, where high qualifications are required to manage liquidity. As a result, we conclude that the “put liquidity and forget” approach is gradually becoming history, except for farming on pools with stablecoins and with derivatives of one token.

Any way the Nomiswap product continues to function, and all liquidity continues to be in contracts that have been audited for security by the reputable company Certik.

We also note that almost 6.5 million NMX tokens have already been burned under our burn program.
