We do not intend to repeat the same news that you have definitely heard today — TON Proxy & Sites releases. Let us better consider what perspective these will open up for the TON community and the whole world in general.
First, with slow steps but TON Foundation continues to develop new and new technologies and constantly implement them into The Open Network. Community confidence has certainly grown in recent months, thanks to the active work of developers. This year has already brought us the first NFT-standards, marketplaces, a sea of the TON wallets, explorers, .ton domains, contests, and now TON Sites. TF showed in practice their desire to develop blockchain and follow the stated road map.
Meanwhile, TON is starting to pop up on different world-renowned platforms, such as CoinMarketCap and NFT Calendar, as well as on crypto exchanges — Huobi, MEXC, and others. We believe the TON community, all people gathered together in the ecosystem, are at the very beginning of something that will turn the world over.
Second, the recently-announced TON Proxy and TON Sites undoubtedly can change what we mean by the word Internet. Starting today, users can touch this buzzword called web3. Just set up an entry proxy and go to foundation.ton — here it is, the upcoming opportunity to be in a decentralized anonymous part of the Internet built on The Open Network.

Jettons on TON. Brief review
Last time we reviewed the Jetton technology on TON and saw what benefits it has. If you somehow missed that post, please follow this link. And now let's look at the most popular tokens on the TON blockchain and try to do some little research.
Reminder: editors’ opinion is subjective. We don't want to underrate any tokens, our goal is rather to do research to find tokens’ pluses and minuses.
Over this time, many new jettons have appeared on TON. Although most of them are fun-tokens, made with no usecases like $KOTE or $BOLT, there continue to appear some worthy projects here. However, in this sphere $BOLT looks the best. Today TON Rocket bot started to accept $BOLT for creating checks and making transactions.
We’d also like to point out $SCALE, the token made by the developer of the first-working DEX in testnet on TON. As there is a lot of information on token's future in his channel, the project continues developing. We wish $SCALE good luck and to become successful on TON.
In addition, it seems like a new trend that many NFT projects (like ARL or Tegro Team) have created their own tokens whilst others have plans to start them soon. Customers still should remember that tokens might be a good investment in some cases, however, it’s not always like this – be cautious to all tokens without any usecases.

🔐Wallets & The Open Network 💎
What is TON? 🤔 Well, although it is The Open Network, it's primary function and purpose is the token: a cryptocurrency.
This is a combination of two words: cryptography (implying secure encrypted transactions) and currency, meaning current, and in circulation.
Ton is thus primarily a cryptocurrency. Yet, on the TON.org website, the "use cases" for Ton, oddly seem to have neglected what we consider its most important function: to act as a means of payment, i.e. a currency.
Not for speculation, but payments, transactions.
Thus, the wallet, is the most important part, for the user of TON. And, given that it is valuable and may contain some or all of your coins, its security is of essence.
And here the Foundation and the page at ton.org/wallets falls down flat on its nose: only 2 or 3 of the four wallets which have a blue approval mark are worthy of that mark.
Tonhub is not, due to current UI/UX issues that can cause the loss of all coins in the wallet.
And then the Android, Web, iOS, Google, MacOS, Linux and TON Rocket wallets, all worthy of the blue approval mark, don't have it.
Why?
Some of those wallets are even developed by one of the key TON developers himself.
This is concerning given that wallets are, as we said, the basic essential in TON. And those behind two of the 4 with approval marks, do not provide adequate support, with one of them even saying that it is free, so why should they offer any help site, information or support 👍🙂

Telegram which in the past has proclaimed it doesn’t oblige government censorship requests is now in the game of censorship and even recently volunteered to cut off the entire Ukraine and Russia before backtracking. See Durov latest post regarding Brazil. However, could this be a strategy to balance between mitigating blocking of telegram (most users won’t know or bother to know how to switch on MTPROXY) and the upcoming TON WEB which, it is claimed, can’t be censored?
If telegram runs on TON WEB (and there’s not been anything to our knowledge written that it can or will) then that opens up a different situation.
Also keeping in mind that much of the success of TON (currently neglected usability issues aside) mass adoption will depend on Telegram and thus it’s important to keep the number of active telegram users as high as possible.

DEX/CEX & TON International
What is DEX and what is CEX?
Enthusiasts are joining TON community constantly and for some of them TON has become a window into the crypto world.

A huge number of crypto exchanges are usually divided into two categories:
CEX (Centralized Exchange) is a centralized exchange. Examples: Binance, Coinbase, Yobit, Kraken, Huobi.
DEX (Decentralized Exchange) is a decentralized exchange. Examples: Uniswap, Pancakeswap, Binance DEX, 1inch.
The difference is fundamental:
In CEX you do not fully own your funds as your assets are being stored in a custodial wallet (which means private keys are stored by the exchange service provider) and all transactions on the exchange (for example, exchanging TON for USDT) take place in the database of the exchange (not in the blockchain).
In DEX your funds are stored on your wallets (only you have access to private keys) and all transactions (for example, exchanging TON for USDT essentially peer-to-peer exchanges) like canceling an order, etc., occur between users' wallets through smart contracts and are being recorded in the blockchain.
Like everything in this world, CEX and DEX have both pros and cons. For example, DEX does not support fiat (USDT is not equal to fiat, USDT is equal to stablecoin, the rate of which is approximately 1 to 1 with fiat), but DEX provides anonymity and will not be able to block your access / take your funds away.

Click menu in the top right corner → Backup Wallet → Write down your 24 recovery words in correct order and store them in secret place.
Google Chrome has released a new extension format V3. With it extensions will become more secure and private.
The TON extension will be updated to the V3 format in the coming days. You may need wallet recovery phrases, make sure you have them written down.
